Overview
Mahjong-zukino Korinai Menmen (麻雀好きの凝りない面々, translated roughly as "The Mahjong Lovers Who Never Learn") is a mature, 2-player tabletop strip mahjong arcade game released by the veteran developer Nichibutsu (Nihon Bussan) in 1988.
The game is part of a massive lineage of head-to-head Japanese adult mahjong games that dominated Japanese game centers and amusement halls during the late 1980s.
The core loop follows standard head-to-head Japanese Riichi Mahjong rules. Players select a female cartoon opponent to play against. Winning hands drains the opponent's points and unlocks explicit adult reward screens between rounds. It relies heavily on standard Nichibutsu mechanics from that exact window of time, meaning its actual gameplay engine is identical to sibling titles like Mahjong Shikaku; only the distinct character art, digital backgrounds, and voice samples set it apart.
