Sega Multimedia Studio: Sega CD Demo

Overview

A tech demo showing off the capabilities of the Sega CD by the newly created Sega Multimedia Studio in 1992.

This demo was created to showcase the capabilities of the Sega CD which was developed by the newly formed Sega Multimedia Studio (who would be responsible for developing Jurassic Park and Wild Woody for the Sega CD and for providing the soundtrack to Ecco the Dolphin CD and Sonic the Hedgehog CD (US).

This demo was presented at the Summer Consumer Electronics Show (SCES) of 1992. The demo itself was often confused with either an upcoming Sega CD exclusive title called 'Super Sonic' or video sequences for a possible Sega CD port of Sonic the Hedgehog 2.

Pressing certain buttons on the controller will enable a time code, possibly used for timing the music with the sequences.

A behind the scenes look at the development of the demo was included in the November 1992 issue of Disney Adventures.
