Overview

Captain Kangaroo: Life's First Lessons is an educational game based on the TV series All New Captain Kangaroo. Captain Kangaroo wants to tell a story to the player, but there is something to do beforehand: he tasks the player with finding five items which are lying around the living room, the garden or the workshop. By clicking the arrows left or right of the screen, the player moves around the house. There is a help function available which tells the player in which room a particular item is. After the items are found, the captain tells a short interactive story with a few player choices represented by two pictures. Afterwards the next set of items to find is unlocked. Around the house, there are also other characters from the show to find which offer four additional mini-games: gardening (following instructions and using the right gardening tool), a Rube Goldberg machine (dragging four machine parts to the correct place) and the hamster maze (locking and unlocking doors to guide the hamster to his destination).
