Poke Champ

Overview

Poke Champ is a Korean hack of Data East’s 1988 arcade game Pocket Gal altered for the Korean market, differing mainly in localized artwork and interface graphics. The game features cartoon-style female characters and maintains a light adult theme.

The game uses a fixed overhead view of the pool table. Players adjust cue direction and shot power to pocket balls under standard pool rules. Matches are played against AI opponents, with victory advancing the player to the next stage.

To progress, the player must earn a required point total. Points are gained by sinking balls into the correct pockets, maintaining streaks, or clearing balls in the proper order. On higher stages, simply clearing the table is not enough—precision and sequence matter.

When the required score is reached, the game displays an image of a girl, providing the game’s “adult” element.
