Renju Kizoku

Overview

Renju Kizoku is a board-game that presents a digital version of gobang (five-in-a-row) under the ruleset of renju. The game uses a traditional grid board and allows players to challenge each other aiming to align five stones in a row, rather than capturing territory as in the

Two players (or one player versus computer) take turns placing black and white stones on the grid intersections. The goal is to create an unbroken line of exactly five stones horizontally, vertically or diagonally. To ensure balance, the first-player (black) is subject to renju restrictions such as forbidding “overline” (six or more in a row) and double-three or double-four patterns. The game concludes when a player forms a valid line of five, or no further legal moves remain.
