Overview
Ripper Ribbit stars a cartoon frog with an endless appetite for insects. Set against colorful swamp and pond backgrounds, the player must snap up bugs while avoiding hazardous ones. There’s no story beyond the premise — the focus is purely on quick reactions and accuracy.
The game runs on LAI’s “Game Room” hardware platform — the same light-gun system used in Lethal Justice and Egg Venture — but reconfigured as a single-screen skill game. Instead of shooting enemies, the player uses a reticle (representing Ripper’s tongue) to catch insects as they fly or crawl across the screen. The goal is to capture as many valid targets as possible before the timer expires. Wrong hits or slow reactions reduce the score and end the round early.
Play is round-based, with each new stage increasing in speed and insect density. Bonus bugs and special targets occasionally appear for extra points or tickets, depending on machine configuration.
