Overview
X-Morph: Defense combines elements of top-down shooting with tower defense strategy. Players take on the role of the X-Morph, an alien species invading Earth to extract its resources and terraform the planet. The game features a mix of planning and action, allowing players to build defensive structures during a preparation phase and then actively participate in combat during enemy waves. The goal is to protect alien harvesters from human forces by constructing towers, creating mazes using laser fences, and strategically adapting to enemy types and their attack routes. The destructible environments provide opportunities to alter the battlefield by collapsing buildings and bridges to hinder enemy progress. The game offers flexibility in tower placement and defense strategy. Players can use various types of towers specialized for specific threats, such as flame towers for fast ground units, artillery for slow-moving groups, or anti-air lasers for bombers. Additionally, the player-controlled X-Morph fighter can morph into four distinct forms, each with unique weapons and abilities tailored to combat different enemy types. These forms include attacks designed for both ground and air units, as well as charged abilities that impact the environment or clear large groups of enemies. Complete Edition includes the base game + all its three DLCs.
