Overview

"The Little Samurai" is based on the Japanese story "Issun-bōshi". It begins with a couple who wants to have a child. The magic tree gives them a large golden apple and at home the fruit cracks open to reveal a baby. The boy, Taro, grows up, but remains small like a doll. Despite this he wants to become a real samurai. He travels to the emperor's palace. The emperor tells him to guard the princess Aya, who is so shy that she never talks. When the palace is attacked by an ogre, Taro is the only one brave enough to confront him. With his diminutive size, he manages to get under the ogre's armour and defeat him by tickling him. Taro takes the ogre's magic staff and can make a wish, but instead offers it to Aya. Aya speaks for the first time and wishes for Taro "to become as big as he is brave". The "Magic Tales" series includes six interactive storybooks, based on fairy tales from different parts of the world. They are all framed as stories read by Grandpa Mouse to his grandchildren. Each story consists of twelve pages and if "Play" mode is selected, the player can also click on different parts of the scenery to see what will happen.
