Midnight Stranger

Overview

Midnight Stranger is an adventure game set in an unnamed city. The player moves between still images of its streets and can enter buildings along the way. Inside there are overall 18 persons to meet and greet.

After initiating a conversation, the player has to respond to their dialogue by clicking on the so-called Emotional Response Bar. The position of the click changes the mood of the player's response: left means negative and right means positive. Depending on the choices, the character will either abort the conversation or enters a positive end-state, e.g. sex with partial nudity. The game normally ends after reaching on of these states or otherwise after a certain amount of time has passed. By talking to the right characters in the correct way, the player may also discover an overarching plot.

The characters are played by actors via live-action video. However, most of the times only the face is shown as a video which is placed over the head portion of a still image. The male player character is never seen or heard.
