Overview

Exotic Japan is an educational multimedia product with 165 lessons about the Japanese culture and language. The lessons are mostly text with the occasional animation or audio pronunciation of Japanese words. It also includes an adaption of the ancient board game Snakes and Ladders. Both participants take turns and the active player throws the dice. The player icon then moves as many fields forward as the dice result and has to answer a multiple-choice question about Japan. If the answer is correct, the player rolls again - if it was wrong, the icon moves back again and it's the next player's turn. The goal is to reach the end first and there are a few fields which serve as shortcuts. This is primarily a two-player game, but it can also be played against the computer. Each question is associated with a lesson and they can also be accessed independently from the game.
