Overview
Taisen Hot Gimmick 3: Digital Surfing is a mature-themed, "strip mahjong" arcade video game developed and published by Psikyo in August 1999. It is the third entry in Psikyo's infamous Taisen Hot Gimmick series and stands out for its uniquely meta concept: an arcade machine that mimics playing a mahjong game on a Windows PC web browser.
The game was the first in the series to split the experience into three distinct gameplay modes:
1. Digital Surfing (1-Player): The core attraction where players browse a fictional "internet" to play mahjong against 10 distinct opponents (plus one hidden final boss). Defeating opponents triggers the series' hallmark "punishment scenes" where players mash buttons to reveal adult content.
2. Mahjong Fighters (1-Player): A single-player story mode focused entirely on mahjong progression.
3. Jan-Prince vs. Jan-Shogun (2-Player): A competitive split-screen or head-to-head mode for two local players.
