Overview
"The Invaders" is a rare, Italian-made Space Invaders clone manufactured by Zaccaria (also known as Zelco) in 1978. Instead of simply licensing Taito's massive hit, the Bologna-based manufacturer reverse-engineered the concept and built an equivalent game using their own proprietary hardware architecture. Today, it is a highly sought-after collector's item in the retro arcade community.
