Tough Turf

Overview

Tough Turf (タフターフ) is a 1989 2D side-scrolling urban themed beat 'em-up arcade game developed by Sunsoft and Sega. It was published by Sega in Japan and by Sunsoft of America in North America, with eight stages total, which lead through a warehouse, sewer and factory, to the final bad guy's mansion.

Enemies assault the player barehanded, or armed with broken bottles, pipes or maces. Attacks from enemies can be blocked. Counter attacks include jumps, kicks and hand to hand moves. Along the way weapons (like pipe and mace) dropped by enemies can be picked up. The game can be played solo or with a friend.
