Warp Factor X

The player attempts to defeat the Klingon empire by defending and recruiting planets and space stations, as well as destroying the Klingon vessels. Played via menu structures, the player controls a spaceship armed with phasers and photon torpedoes. The ship has short and long-ranged sensors for detecting vessels, starbases and planets. The player must optimize shield deployment and enact repairs to the systems of the vessel. Ships can also be repaired at friendly space docks and planets. The player must locate and build alliances with neutral planets, and must conquer Klingon starbases and planets, to convert them to the Federation. The player uses their impulse engines to travel within sectors, and their warp engines to travel greater distances.
