Forged treasure maps, voodoo magic, a deadly curse and the seemingly ever-present threat of Blackbeard's wrath all appear focused on stifling Hawk as he plunges into a battle for power, romance, treasure and truth. You, Thomas "Hawk" Blythe will meet a variety of people throughout the storyline. "Do not take anyone at face value" With your girlfriend, the Voodoo priestess Sangua, by your side you will encounter the most evil of characters, sinister individuals, taciturn sailors – as well as beautiful women and true friendship. Brains & Brawn Battles at sea, close combat or scouting missions - Hawk may decide at any time which strategy would be the most advantageous in any given situation. With realistically proportioned vessels and landscapes, and highly detailed graphics, it is possible to decide early whether an open attack could be successful. Otherwise, boarding the dinghy during the night in order to sabotage the opponent's ship might be sensible. Thus, the enemy will be weakened and the number of opponents will be reduced - ideal conditions for a sword fight, man-to-man. The dinghy is extremely important and has plenty of uses: crossing shallow waters, hasty retreats, spying, carrying out sabotage missions, nocturnal raids, or clearing keg mines. When an open conflict is inevitable, skillful tactics will enable you to be victorious even against seemingly superior opponents. Each sail and every mast can be hit separately. The loss of any cannons in the hull area (of which there could be up to one hundred) will be displayed in detail. Always keep an eye on the opponent's damage, as your prey will be lost when the enemy's ship breaks apart and sinks. If you want to avoid such a loss, it might be prudent to go alongside and seek close combat in order to win the final battle.
