Space Joust

Space Joust is a 1-player arcade game for the VIC-20.

You are about to embark on a mission to destroy enemy spacecraft which are infiltrating your space zone. You have been chosen by the Commander-in-General of the Space Fleet to single handedly annihilate the entire enemy armada.

Similar to the game Joust, the player controls a green spaceship that can move in all directions, and the player must use thrust to prevent their ship from falling to the ground. Enemy ships can be destroyed by hitting them from above, but player ships can be destroyed the same way. Destroyed alien ships become escape pods which fall to the ground, and can be picked up for bonus points. The player must watch for the lava at the bottom of the screen, and faces a new wave of enemies when the screen is cleared.
