Overview
Racer is an early car driving game that is played from a third person perspective where they player sees the rear of the car. The game is played with a paddle which is used to steer left and right while gassing is done with the button. The environment is made out of a number of horizontal lines with gaps in the middle. The gaps acts as the race track which the player aims to keep his car within since the speed will decrease when touching the lines. The game is for a single player with no AI opponents and the aim is simply to get the best score possible. The score is shown once a race is finished but there is no indication during the race of how well the player is doing.
