Derby

Overview

A horse racing game for up to 4 human players by Lothar Maier, released as shareware in 1992. The game is German language and the full version could be ordered from the author. In the simulation game you have the task of managing a horse and increasing the existing starting capital (20,000 DM). You have to try to increase the GAG (performance rating) of your horse through appropriate selection of races and successful riding. If your horse starts in a race, you can place bets.

Tip: Beginners should definitely read the information in the 'Galloping Info' directory on the Derby disk in order to be informed about the terms of the cantering sport. Only one (!) simulation can be played at a time, i.e. when a new simulation starts, all old data is deleted. The data from a simulation is automatically saved continuously. The disk's write protection must never be active. The program must always be exited properly and never trigger a reset during the simulation game.
