Overview
Beyond Pinball is a 1-player pinball adventure game created by Stuart Aronoff for the Apple II.
The player controls a either pinball paddle which spins in a 360 degree circle or a bumper that can be intermittently solid or transparent to control the ball's motion. This is used to direct a bouncing ball through a number of screens. Each screen has a number of small white bumpers which move about the level, and there are spaces in the wall that allow the pinball to move to another screen. The ultimate goal is to move the pinball through the maze and find the goal. The program contains a special lesson mode to teach the player how to play, and there is also a demonstration mode to watch the computer play. There are a total of 4 courses of increasing difficulty, and the goal is to minimize the number of bounces or time to complete the course to maximize score.
