Tecmo Super Bowl 2024 introduces several notable updates. A new "CHECK DEF" feature allows players to review defensive conditions by scrolling through their players. The game now supports a 32-team ROM, with rosters updated as of September 7, 2023. Players can also adjust quarter lengths and edit playbooks in-game. Player 2 attributes are now displayed correctly, and halftime stats have been added to enhance gameplay. Pass Control determines the likelihood of completing a pass, while Passing Accuracy ensures the ball is on target. The schedule reset feature maintains consistent game order, with Thursday games always scheduled first and Monday night games last. Due to ROM space constraints, the season is limited to 16 games. Tecmo Super Bowl, originally released in December 1991 for the NES, was groundbreaking as the first sports video game licensed by both the NFL and NFLPA, allowing it to use real NFL teams and players.
