Galactic Miners

Overview

Galactic Miners is a single player, commercial adventure\edutainment game, developed and published by Rush Software and written with CanDo, which was released in Australia in 1992. The coding team was Greg Abernethy and Martin Fitzgibbons.

The story is that you are returning from an expedition to the mining colonies of Tauran when you encounter an unexpected asteroid shower. Your ship, the Flying Kangaroo, is damaged but you were able to manage to land safely on a nearby planet. You find damage to your fuel storage tanks and your communications systems. You are stranded unless you can find enough raw materials to produce fuel and repairs for your ship. Using your short range shuttle and your Scorpion Mine Probe, you investigate the potential mining locations scattered around the planet. You will need to safely navigate around the planet, evaluate each site and steer the scorpion through the underground spaces to obtain the minerals and produce fuel. Your handy tools will guide you through the planning. You had better get started food, water and other necessities will necessitate that you hurry, so get to the bridge!
