Overview

Microscopic Journey is a 1-player arcade game for the Apple II. The player controls a small ship that has been shrunk to fit within a human blood vessel. The player must race against time to reach specific human organs to target disease within these areas. While in a blood vessel, the player can move up and down, but can also accelerate forwards. The ship is armed with a small laser which can shoot platelets and white blood cells that attempt to impede travel. If the player goes off course and pierces the edge of a blood vessel, the vessel must be repaired. Damaging a major vessel 3 times can cause sufficient blood loss to kill the host. Platelets will stick to the player and slow them down, preventing the player from reaching their target organ in time. If a white blood cell attaches to the player, their ship will be dissolved if the cell is not lost by crashing through the vessel wall.
