Overview

Penqueriel Mazes is a 1-player maze navigation game for the Apple II. A quadrail deposits you in a small building on top of a low cliff. Far below to the south, you see an identical building. This is your goal. The player controls a character in the cardinal directions, viewed from above from an isometric projection. There are two gameplay options, in the first, the player must navigate a maze which contains a number of invisible teleporters. The player has access to an overhead map at anytime, which can help them navigate the map. In this mode, there are no keys or barricades. In the second gameplay option, the map contains a number of locked doors and rooms. There are a number of keys which contain boxes, and the player can only hold 2 keys at a time. The player can only go through a door while holding the correct key, and the doors remain locked behind them. The player can pick up and drop off keys at various boxes found throughout the maze.
