Overview
Laser Reflex is a 1-player arcade game for the BBC Micro and Electron.
The player is charge of a remote asteroid refueling base, vitally important to Earth's space exploration program. Deep below the base lie four giant silos, each containing millions of liters of liquid oxygen. The player suddenly becomes aware of an alien spacecraft in orbit high above. It has detected the base's presence and is about to send down drones to plunder the fuel supplies unless you can zap them first.
The player controls a laser cannon that moves laterally at the bottom of the screen. It fires at a large reflecting dish to the right of the screen, and these shots ricochet into space to destroy enemy vessels. The player has limited laser power, and can recharge by moving to the far left of the screen. Enemy vessels approach, which seek to destroy the base shielding, after penetrating the shielding, four more hits will drain the liquid oxygen, and the player loses a life. The player starts with three lives.
