Mario & Luigi: Brothership is a role-playing video game developed by Acquire and published by Nintendo for the Nintendo Switch. It is the sixth main installment in the Mario & Luigi series. It is the first original entry in the series since Mario & Luigi: Paper Jam, the first that is not developed by AlphaDream after its closure due to bankruptcy in October 2019, the first that features fully 3D gameplay, and the first for a home console. The game takes place on the sea of the world of Concordia and its islands, which Mario and Luigi traverse on Shipshape Island, a structure that is described as "part ship, part island." Following a similar gameplay style to that of the previous games, Brothership features advanced jump and hammer attacks utilizing both brothers at the same time as well as brand new and returning Bros. Attacks.
