The player will lose a battle if they themselves run out of units or their base gets destroyed. The main part of the game is the multiple campaigns in which the player controls the army of a specific nation and must invade and overtake nearby regions. In-between battles, the player has the opportunity to upgrade their units stats and power skills as well as purchase new unit types to use in their army. These upgrades are purchase using XP earnt in battles; this XP will be spent however, so it is more akin to a currency.
