Overview

Uncle Albert's Magical Album is the first game in a series based on the fictional character uncle Albert. Aimed at ages 7 and up (9 and up advertised in the US release), it consists of a series of puzzles that can be completed in a non-linear order. The player needs to reveal the secret of uncle Albert through a book in his attic. Solving the puzzles opens up new pages that lead to the secret. The game takes place on the pages of the book. Each page holds a puzzle that is solved through the manipulation of items, animals and tools in the environment. Items and animals can be dragged across pages and need to be used at a logical location. In the bottom left corner is a tape recorder where Albert talks about the task on that page. Crumpled pieces of paper provide additional hints and a flute can be used to have the chameleon Tom provide additional help. Tom is the main character of the game and he is trapped inside the album. The player assists to help him get out and reveals Albert's secrets along the way. Five tools can be collected and they are also used to solve the puzzles. They are a camera, a printer, fire, a jackhammer and a watering can. The game uses a number of variables to randomize the gameplay with each game.
