Overview
Whirlwind One Five is a 1-player arcade game for the VIC-20.
Vital equipment is needed by your allies in order to stop the enemy missiles that are continually attacking your base. This equipment has to be loaded onto your helicopter in daylight and dropped over a target area. Game play is divided into 3 phases.
In Phase 1, the player must take off and defend their fuel lines from enemy missiles. The player takes off from the landing pad, and can move in the cardinal directions to shoot down incoming missiles from the left. Each missile that passes by the player costs 20 fuel. If the player is hit by a missile, it's game over.
In Phase 2, the enemy begins to drop parachute mines directly onto your supply lines. The player controls a gun that moves laterally at the bottom of the screen. You must protect your helicopter's fueling by shooting the incoming mines. Each missed mine costs 5 fuel, and if all fuel is lost or the gun is hit by a mine, it's game over.
In Phase 3, the player must successfully make the cargo drop with their helicopter while defending from enemy missiles, and return safely to base.
