Overview

Pencil Wars is a turn-based shooter inspired by a popular pencil-and-paper game the developer played in the elementary school in Japan. Players take turns controlling dots on a grid-based screen, selecting an angle and power to knock out their opponent’s dots. The objective is to eliminate all of the opponent’s dots by successfully landing hits. The game supports 2 to 4 players and allows customization, such as adjusting the initial number of dots (1 to 16) or loading custom maps through command-line options. Gameplay is designed for simplicity, with all actions—dot selection, angle adjustment, and power setting—controlled using the numeric keypad.
