Overview

After pressing RESET (or the top player’s button), a five second countdown starts. During this countdown, each player must press their paddle button to activate his/her car for the race. Activated cars and their boost arrows are displayed in color. Immediately after the countdown, the race starts. Inactive cars will be controlled by the game’s AI. While racing, try to press the button ONLY while your car is over a boost arrow. This will color the boost arrows and accelerate your car. Pressing the button while not being over a boost arrow will make the car brake, indicated by a black arrow and a squeaking sound. “Super-Boost” arrows will appear in red. During the race, the cars will slowly move to the right. Their position on the track will indicate their position in the race. At the end of the race, the cars will move into their final positions, and after a few seconds, the distance covered by each car will be displayed. Difficulty Levels The four difficulty levels define acceleration, boost sequence lengths, the human car’s braking effect, and the computer car’s AI strength. Hot colored cars (red, orange, yellow) will be slightly faster, cold colored (white, purple, blue) ones will be slightly slower on average. To keep the field of competitors close together, the AI strength will also be permanently adapted based on the computer car’s position during a race. Finally, you can enable so called “Super-Boosts” (twice as strong as normal boosts) by switching LEFT DIFFICULTY to A. In total, there are 24 game variations to choose from. Features Up to eight players supported through the use of a QuadTari device. Three game lengths available, 30, 60, and 90 seconds. Four difficulty modes: Blue (Kids), Green (Easy), Yellow (Normal), and Red (Hard). Super-Boosts can be enabled by switching the Left Difficulty to "A". AtariVox/SaveKey support to save high scores for all 24 game variations.
