Overview
U.I.M. is a 3-D arcade trading game. Greenhouse gasses have melted the icecaps, and now all life exists in the ocean. There are over 65,000 underwater ports with their own colonies. The player must travel the oceans, trading in commodities and currency, to complete a total of 250 missions to discover the Ultra Intelligent Machine (UIM). The player controls the futuristic submarine Black Satyr from a first-person perspective. The player can dive, climb, roll clockwise and counterclockwise, fire lasers, increase velocity, or jump to hyperspace. The Terran network allows the player to navigate the deeps. As the game progresses, the player combats a variety of enemy submersibles, and can upgrade their vessel with a variety of sophisticated offensive and defensive equipment.
