Overview
Skibbereen is a Breakout game for two players (Pong with bricks is another way to describe it) based on Irish folklore. Each player uses a paddle to move a bat up and down and uses it to hit a ball. They both have a set of bricks to protect and behind them there is also a pot of gold that is worth extra when hit. The player that first destroys the opponent's bricks as well as pot of gold will win the game. But to complicate things, there are also snakes that at times enter the screen. These have to be avoided since hitting them three times will lead to a game over for both players. The game has nine difficulty levels which differ in the speed of the ball as well as the snakes. The game does not have any AI opponents so it cannot be played in single player (unless the player wants to control both paddles).
