Overview
It is well known that in the late 1990s, Taiwanese game developers never allowed themselves to stoop to the level of primitive copying of European or American RTS cameras, as their Korean colleagues began to do on an industrial scale. There are not so many real-time strategies from Taiwan, but they are all interesting and original in their own way. One of these is the original RTS from the little-known developer Big Point (大點科技). Apparently, these guys acted out of an extremely protest logic: "How long can you tolerate the dominance of a Sci-Fi setting in the RTS genre?!" – that's why they "stirred up" a real-time strategy game with a very unusual plot, sometimes even claiming a slightly different interpretation of one of the most important biblical events...
A long time ago, at the end of the creation of the world, after the formation of the Earth and the appearance of flora and fauna on it, the male God and the female God felt that something was clearly missing for the final touch. And they decided to create a Man and a Woman respectively in their image and likeness. But something went wrong. Either the overly muscular Adam turned out to be too brutal, or the no less muscular Eve turned out to be not attractive enough - in short, the first man at the very first second of their acquaintance, without hesitation, smashed Faye with a powerful hook... hit the first woman in the face (oh, horror, how politically incorrect it looks today..). From that moment on, the very "Grandiose Split" took place, which you will have the pleasure of seeing in the gameplay. Yes, yes, these will be the most real and uncompromising gender wars, in addition to the entourage of primitive human society...
At the beginning of the game, you need to choose the warring side: men or women. To do this, you need to choose either an old God or a Goddess. However, do not confuse - and it is better to be guided by the familiar icons: "Mars" and "Venus", since the god-woman here is difficult to distinguish from the man-god and generally looks, sorry Gos-di, "worse than a nuclear war" (for this, a special "thank you" to the Taiwanese 3D animators). After choosing a side, in fact, the gameplay begins. You can launch any of the pre-prepared missions and start building a society of shared prosperity and well-being, starting with a small combat group of your warriors. All missions are initially difficult - the enemy is many times superior to your forces, and in this regard, questions immediately arise: has anything been tested here at all? The tasks are mostly monotonous: clear the terrain from the enemy, destroy his structures or find some key character on the map. I must say, the maps are all quite spacious. Unexplored areas are shaded black. The structures here are of the most diverse purpose - and all are made in strict accordance with the technological mode of the "stone war". Sometimes it is even difficult to guess the purpose of the building: everything is constructed from sticks, stones, vines and other improvised material.
The men here are extremely harsh and dressed, of course, in animal skins. Women, unfortunately, are also harsh and are not examples of sophistication and grace, because such a time is wartime, not conducive to frivolous defiles in a bikini. The most pleasant thing begins when the platoon of "men" and the company of "women" enter into a direct combat clash on the ground. They amusingly and furiously begin to "knead" each other with clubs - almost at the speed of a machine gun. But in addition to the main fighters in more advanced missions, there will also beother units: for example, sorceresses (for women), as well as very strong Vikings (for men), and the top of this whole "arms race" will be combat pterodactyls (!), which are an analogue of the all-crushing Air Force. In general, the player is waiting for extremely simple controls here - only a few buttons: stand, defend, attack, build. For fans of online battles, even a multiplayer player is offered!
The graphics are not bad - it is a bright full-color resolution of 640x480. The sprites of the units are all clearly distinguishable - at least there were no problems with identifying the gender of the fighters. Musical themes are diverse. There are cheerful fighting melodies with elements of both Chinese and non-Chinese folk, and there are also very, very lyrical ones, making you think about the eternal...
Well, the verdict is clear, the game is a typical "average": a non-stressful and non-binding RTS with extremely simple controls and a great idea. The Chinese language is present here only in the tasks for the missions, where the conditions for losing and the conditions for winning on the map are spelled out. Therefore, this product can be safely recommended for mandatory familiarization to all fans of real-time strategists. Enjoy your gamepla
