Overview
An unofficial PC port of the 1984 game released only for MSX and ColecoVision. In terms of genre, it is a vertical flying game with non-stop (that's right!) action.
There is a plot: the future, an army of evil Zefurian aliens invaded Earth in their powerful flying machines. Humanity can be saved from destruction by a pilot who controls a unique experimental machine - the Sky Jaguar. The ultimate goal of the game is to destroy the main headquarters of the enemy, but for this you will have to defeat many enemies...
Probably, formally we can say that this game does not differ in variety. The levels are very similar to each other, the enemies are of the same type (just airplanes, in fact), there is no variety of weapons either. But Sky Jaguar is valuable for something completely different - complexity. A real "old" difficulty, sometimes simply deadly: there are often situations when missiles fired by enemies fill half of the screen, so it will be very difficult to dodge them. And most importantly, you can't relax here even for a second, because the action, as already mentioned, does not stop. Under no circumstances should you use this game for "fun" - it does not forgive it.
It is also worth noting that graphically Sky Jaguar is one of the most beautiful games released on MSX (and the MSX version was ported to PC), so the landscapes and even the enemies themselves from a visual point of view can pleasantly surprise connoisseurs of old beauties. Due to the long-standing appearance of this unofficial port, this item can already be considered a PC game (like a number of other games ported from MSX in this way), so all fans of truly complex flying games should definitely take a look at it.
