Fica 1

Overview

Fica 1 (lit. One Left) is a table game, developed by Devworks Game Technology and published by Tec Toy. It was released as a built-in game on several Sega Mega Drive models released in Brazil. AtGames released this game outside of Brazil as Checker, available on multiple editions of Arcade Ultimate with 80 games.

Basically, Fica 1 is an adaptation of peg solitaire for the Mega Drive: The player must remove pegs in the board one by one until there's a single piece left. A peg must be moved when there is a free space next to the adjacent one. The player loses if two or more pieces are left on the board without logic situation and there's no way to undo the moves. Although Fica 1 uses the board from the English version (cross; 33 holes), the game offers various peg formations based around shapes. By consequence, the number of pegs in the board is smaller than usual.

Years later, a similar game was developed by Tec Toy for the Sega Master System as Resta Um. This version does not have the involvement of Devworks.
