The Shapes Game

The Shapes Game is a scrolling maze game where players must collect items while avoiding enemies. It uses only MODE 7, employing Teletext graphics for rendering the game world.

Players navigate a maze while avoiding enemies called "Mutoids." The objective is to collect special items referred to as the "Jewels of Malieve," which appear as letters of the alphabet. As players advance through the levels, they are required to collect these letters in a specific alphabetical order—starting with 'A', then 'B', and so on—with each level increasing the number of letters to collect.

The game involves fast-paced movement and memory challenges, requiring players to remember paths and react quickly to threats. Collision with enemies is only fatal if the player is fully surrounded.
