Fire Island

Fire Island is a text adventure game set on a remote volcanic island rumored to be the hiding place of a fortune in pearls. The story begins when the player meets a drunken old sailor in a tavern who speaks of past adventures with a pirate named "Mad Dutch" Mike. Enticed by the promise of treasure, the player hires a ship to find the island—only to crash into a coral reef upon arrival.

Gameplay begins with the player stranded, and quickly reveals the island's additional danger: an active volcano threatening to erupt. The objective is to explore the island, locate the hidden treasure, and escape before time runs out.
