Overview
Ripton is a puzzle and maze game in which the player must collect all diamonds in each level while avoiding hazards such as falling boulders and moving enemies. The objective is to gather every collectible and reach the exit safely.
The game is played from a side-view perspective with levels made up of destructible terrain, gravity-affected boulders, and other obstacles. Players navigate using keyboard controls, digging paths, releasing rocks, and timing movements to avoid being trapped or crushed. Eggs scattered through the level hatch into monsters if not dealt with in time. Completing a level requires collecting all diamonds and safely reaching the exit.
Ripton was submitted to A&B Computing for publishing but was never commercially released due to its "close resemblance" of Repton, a popular game of the same era.
