Overview
SAS Commander is a single-player gallery-style shooter in which the player, acting as an SAS unit, receives mission coordinates and must scramble their squadron to intercept enemy targets. Gameplay involves selecting squadrons, navigating maps, and engaging incoming enemies in individual mission screens where timely key presses determine success or failure.
At the start of each mission, the player inputs a squadron number (1–9) following an alert prompt such as “SCRAMBLE…SCRAMBLE…”. A map displays the selected squadron's base, aircraft count, and status. The player then enters target coordinates to deploy fighters. The game transitions to a static combat screen: enemies appear, and the player presses designated keys to fire or avoid attacks. Success depends on accuracy and speed.
