Spin Master

As fantastic as these conversions are, where things get far more interesting are the completely new MVS to CD conversions. Spin Master (also know as Miracle Adventure) is a fantastic run-and-gun game from Data East that fans of Metal Slug, Contra, and Caveman Ninja (Joe and Mac) should love. What makes this conversion even more spectacular is that IQ_132 was able to split up the game into chunks to make the fully game playable despite it normally being too large for the Neo CD’s RAM when unmodified. Similar to SNK’s original release of Metal Slug for the CD, the game only loads between rounds which keeps loading screens to a minimum. Loading between stages significantly reduces game play interruptions. It’s an excellent port that was sorely missing from the Neo CD library.

The story follows Johnny and Tom, two treasure hunters who have found an ancient treasure map. Before they can search for the treasure, however, their home is ransacked by the Mad Doctor, who steals the map and kidnaps their friend Mary. The two now must travel the world to defeat the Mad Doctor, rescue Mary and retrieve the map.

Along the way you uncover treasure chests that can contain special weapons like boxing gloves, bombs or ice shots. Each weapon has its own distinct range, firing trajectory and damage potential. Some weapons can cause opponents to bounce across the screen, doing damage to any other enemies in their path. You can charge up your weapons to do more damage or to have a wider spread pattern, depending on the weapon you're currently equipped with. You also have a limited stock of bombs that can clear the screen of enemies when used.
