Super Mario Bros. Proto Remix

This is one of the fan game that was made in celebration of the Super Mario Bros. 40th Anniversary.

Super Mario Bros. Proto Remix (aka Super Mario Bros. Prototype Remix) brings together several stages of development of the first Super Mario Bros. in a single game. Old concepts, old plans, things that weren't approved for the final version. There are also new levels and new things that don't have much to do with the beta, but that are still (in a way) part of what could have been if it had continued. Therefore, the game becomes very different from what you are used to.

Story:

"The Mario Brothers were leaving the house until they found a mysterious cartridge with the initials "M". The Mario brothers take it to their hideout, where they keep an old Famicom (Japanese NES). Bowser sees and starts following them. Then Mario and Luigi start playing a "Super Mario Bros" game completely different from the one that came in the final version. Bowser continues to spy on them... the brothers don't even notice him. Could he have something to do with it?"
