Mechanik: EMU

emuRoute-Mechanik is a UK-based modification for Mechanik EN57, created by Steve Green of Trainsimcentral, that introduces players to the world of British Rail Class 317 EMUs. The Class 317, first introduced in the early 1980s, was one of the first second-generation electric multiple units in the UK, operating on suburban and regional services around London and the East of England.

This mod recreates the Class 317’s cab in a first-person driving perspective, while adapting Mechanik’s systems to a British EMU environment. The route includes characteristic UK overhead electrification, signals, and scenery, offering a distinct contrast to the Polish railway setting of the original game.

Despite Mechanik’s technical limitations, emuRoute-Mechanik is praised by enthusiasts as a faithful and immersive adaptation, expanding the simulator into British territory and letting players experience the operation of a classic electric unit from the British Rail era.
