Overview
S80-Mechanik is a Mechanik EN57 modification that recreates the German S-Bahn S80 line, featuring the ÖBB Class 4020 EMU. The mod allows players to explore an authentic German suburban route, bringing a new cultural and operational setting to the simulator.
Because the project remains incomplete, the cab of the Polish EN57 has been used as a functional substitute. While not an exact representation of the Class 4020’s driving environment, it ensures the route is fully playable and enjoyable until a dedicated 4020 cab can be developed.
Despite this limitation, S80-Mechanik stands out for its faithful recreation of the S80 line and represents a significant expansion of Mechanik into German-speaking railway territory.
