Keylocker

Overview

Keylocker is a role-playing game with rhythm-based elements about B0B0, a singer-songwriter living on Saturn in a society where music has been banned for over a century. As one of two engineered twins created to serve authority, she rebels against her role and forms a band with a robot companion. Together they lead an uprising against the rulers of Saturn, using music to resist control.

The game combines traditional turn-based role-playing mechanics with rhythm systems. Battles take place on a grid where actions require timed button presses to improve their effect. Defenses and counterattacks also rely on timing, making rhythm a core part of combat. There are no random encounters, as enemies are visible in the environment. Players can select from multiple character classes, unlock talents, and gather equipment while progressing through the story. Dialogue choices and player decisions affect relationships with allies and can lead to different endings. In addition to combat, performance segments involve rhythm-based sequences where B0B0’s band plays music on stage.
