Overview
Europa spelet is a collection of five mini Quiz-games, all questions are about details of the European countries - in the 1998 timeframe.
The quiz sections are about locating countries on the European map, recognizing countries flags, currencies (in 1998 - prior to the Euro currency), and linking countries to capitals. A 20-second timer is counting down, and the player can make a five wrong guesses until the query is changed. The mini game continues until the player has answered 20 questions correctly.
There is a difficulty selection for these minigames when played in a tournament. These minigames have individual highscore lists.
A timed memory game is included with some still photos from European cities - the player is to find two matching pictures by turning over tiles. (No highscore)
There is also a simple quiz where the players are asked to link a small set of photos of well known motifs to countries around the world. (No highscore)
The mini-games can be played individually, or in a combined tournament sequence with 1-9 players. The tournament is implemented as a tabletop game where each players token is moved with dice throws, along a fixed path across the European map. If a player token lands on a square with an asterisk, there can be a query to answer from the mini games, or some special movement (back/forth/wait) for the player for the next move.
The game is distributed on a common media in the developers 'Series 3'; the media contains nine main titles sold separately, but with an installation key for only one of the games included.
In addition to the Europa mini-games, the 'Series 3' media also holds three simple bonus-games, which can be played without the installation code. The three bonus games are a Breakout clone, A 'Missile Command' clone (using apples instead of missiles) and a Space Invaders clone.
