Overview
Playing Amiga Master Mind is very simple: after loading the program, the game's start screen appears after just a few seconds. You can read a summary of the basic Master Mind rules—which are likely familiar to almost everyone—via the "Instructions" option in the "Options" menu. To start a game, simply select the "Start Game" menu option. The computer will ask you to select the number of players from the "Players" menu; if playing with two people, after entering the players' names, the Codemaker (the person setting the sequence to be guessed) must enter the combination by clicking on the colored pegs and, once they have had a chance to note it down, can begin the game.
If, however, there is only one player, the computer takes on the role of the code-maker, while the player acts as the code-breaker (the one who must guess the sequence).
Combinations must consist exclusively of five pegs of different colors. Closeness to the solution is indicated to the code-breaker by the standard black and white pegs placed next to each attempt, as well as by a colored bar in the bottom-right corner that increases or decreases based on the number of black and white pegs. Once the 15 available attempts are exhausted, the exact sequence is revealed; otherwise, if the code-breaker guesses correctly and the number of attempts beats the previous record, their name is recorded in the High Score box.
