Overview
Released in December 1967 by Williams Electronic Games, Jolly Roger is a pirate-themed 4-player electromechanical pinball machine designed by Norm Clark. The gameplay centers on a "cannon" shot mechanic and features two-inch flippers, four pop bumpers, and a swinging target.
This well-regarded, fast-playing machine was among the first to introduce a standard on/off switch, located in the now-familiar place underneath the front right corner of the cabinet. It was also the first release of a machine with artwork by Frenchman Christian Marche.
The table was commercially successful, with 3,502 units produced, most of which were exported to Europe, particularly Germany, Switzerland, Austria, and the Netherlands.
