Destructive Poker

Overview

Destructive Poker is a solitaire poker simulator with some interesting features. To start the game, select "New" from the "Game" menu; you begin with 40 credits, and for each hand, a wager is deducted—calculated by adding the number of wildcards in the deck to the number of allowed card exchanges. To adjust your bet, select the "Bet" option. Naturally, increasing the number of exchanges (up to a maximum of 3) or wildcards (up to 8) boosts your chances of getting a winning hand, though it costs more per wager. The "Shuffle" button allows you to reshuffle the deck; if luck isn't on your side, a good shuffle might turn the game around. Once you have decided on your bet, press "Done" to be dealt your cards. After choosing which cards to swap, simply select them and press "Done" again. Cards marked as "Joker" or "Extra" act as wildcards, and the computer automatically assigns them the value that yields the highest score. When the exchanges are complete, a dialog box appears to announce your score.
