About FATAL FRAME II: Crimson Butterfly REMAKE
The complete remake of the second installment in the FATAL FRAME (PROJECT ZERO) series, originally released in 2003 as FATAL FRAME / PROJECT ZERO II: Crimson Butterfly. This Japanese-style horror adventure follows twin sisters who become lost in an abandoned village haunted by vengeful spirits. Using the Camera Obscura, a device capable of capturing and sealing the impossible, they confront the ghosts as the story unfolds.
The game has been completely revamped with improvements across the board, from graphics and sound to core gameplay systems and controls. The Camera Obscura mechanic, used to capture and repel spirits, remains as essential as ever, but now offers more engaging gameplay in both exploration and combat. Additionally, the new "Hold Mayu's Hand" mechanic adds a heartwarming touch, allowing you to experience the bond between the sisters like never before.
The Story
Twin sisters Mio and Mayu Amakura visit a stream they remember from their childhood.
The area will soon be flooded by a dam. As Mio is lost in memory, her older sister Mayu begins to follow a crimson butterfly that leads her to a village that doesn't appear on any map, but only in rumors.
It's a village filled with vengeful spirits hunting a pair of twins who escaped their ritual. A village shrouded in eternal night.
As Mio searches for Mayu and a way to escape the village, her actions unwittingly follow the horrors of the past.
Deep within the village, Mio will discover the truth about the "forbidden ritual that must never be witnessed."
