Jovian

Jovian is a top down scrolling space-themed arcade game for the TRS-80.

The player controls a spaceship which can travel in the four cardinal directions, and fire directly forwards. The player starts in a small spaceport, and their goal is to destroy all of the pods on the alien space station to advance to the next level. The station can be located by using a scanner, and the player must avoid dangers including fast aliens, slow aliens, mines, and asteroids. The ship has four different speeds, and there are 3 sectors of increasing difficulty.

The player starts with five spaceships, and gains an additional ship every 20,000 points. The game is over when all ships are lost.
